What’s in your name? (from M is for Myg)

Remembering

Remembering, originally uploaded by Raul Crimson

Taking a look at some other SL blogs i saw this post by Timothy Lilliehook about how we choose our Second Life names. All started in a a post by Mygdala March about it and is growing quickly through the SL blogosphere. Looker Lumet also posted about it, as CodeBastard Redgrave or some others. Just wanted to share this with you too.

My RL name is Raul, so that was the easy part, is not special, but i like it. Well, my real name is Raúl, but normally some applications don’t accept “´” because this sign doesn’t exist in english. Raúl is a contraction of the germanic name Rudolf and means “glorious warrior” or “glorious wolf”.

About Crimson, i like this color, i like how it sounds, and i remembered a movie called Crimson Tide directed by Tony Scott.

  • I knew there was a wolf connection in there. When pronounced correctly your name sounds much like a wolf too. Very cool. As for me, the Wolf was easy, and I have considered changing my RL name to that too – I have a long connection with these amazing creatures and have been likened to them. I selected Hartnell from the list of available names because I am a fan of early Dr Who.
