Arthole, a collaborative art space

Arthole is a new collaborative project between artists Arahan Claveau and Nebulosus Severine. Having succesfully worked together for the first time in 2007 on the exhibition Salon Du Disruptif for the Heldscalla Foundation, they were eager to establish a permanent space for their work.

Both Severine and Claveau are keen to avoid what they refer to as “flat art”, insisting all the work on display is either interactive or uses the tools of Second Life to create an experience unique to a virtual world.

Ichibot Nishi Another feature is the inclusion of a guest artist area, a space where the invited individual has total freedom to show off their talent and ingenuity. The first guest, Ichibot Nishi, has created an installation intriguingly entitled “λ.mnemonic” which can be accessed on level three.

Split into three separate levels, Arthole has been very consciously conceived to be a continually evolving space, which will strive to challenge and surprise the visitor. The environment has been designed to encourage exploration at a more considered pace, and those that choose to do so will likely be rewarded with a much more immersive and satisfying experience.

The Arthole group offers, as an extra incentive for people to join, regular member-only parties hosted by veteran DJ’s Claveau and Severine. These occasions will integrate live multimedia performance that will endeavour to confound the participants’ usual expectations.

Arthole opens to the public on Saturday 26th April 2008.

I know the work of the three artists in Arthole, and i just can say they are, for me, some of the best artist in Second Life. For sure Arthole will worth a visit.
