Nebulosus Severine at the NPIRL Garden of Delights

Nebulosus is not only a good friend, is also one of the most interesting artists in Second Life in my opinion.
I like specially her work in 3D installations, even being mainly abstract (I mean not figurative), they are provoking and nearly. They surround you and make you feel part of it. Inside one Neb’s 3D artwork you don’t feel a strange, you feel being part of it.
Nebulosus built one of her works in The NPIRL Garden of Delights in Rezzable (SLurl), a group of sims full of environmental, hyper-formalist and 3D art. The inspirations for this project was the triptych painting “The Garden of Earthly Delights”by Hieronymus Bosch, painted between 1503 and 1504 and hosted in the Museo Nacional del Prado in Madrid.
The place is awesome, you can expend there hours and hours seeing great environmental works, playing, exploring, well, a pleasure for sure. From all the works there i selected to show this one, the one by Nebulosus, and i have my reasons to do it. First, she is a friend (and i can’t find a better reason 
), second, is one of the works i liked most during my explorations there, a highlight.
The installation is divided in two parts, a dark one in ground level, and a bright one up in the sky. The lower level is in black, red and some touches of white. The higher area is white and blue, with some touches of black.
It can be interpreted as Hell and Heaven, unconsciousness and consciousness… It can be interpreted in so many ways, so is better you go, explore, enjoy and have your own conclusions… and then read the notecard so you can have artist’s point of view.
Anorexia?!

Thanks to this great image by Keiko Morigi i heard about something hard to believe if someone was telling it to me.
It seems there is, at least, one group in the SL-Flickr universe, dedicated to promote extreme slimness. Of course i won’t mention the name of the group, or the administrator of it, mainly because i don’t want to help to promote all this.
Of course i believe in the freedom of each and everyone to make one’s avatar the way one wants, i believe in freedom of speech and expression, of ideas. Even after seeing some of the pics of some of the people posting in that group i can say they look like lollypops for me i respect their personal decision (i can respect and have an opinion about it at the same time).
But will all that respect included i think promote, iconise and glorify a sickness as dangerous, lethal and problematic as Anorexia is horrid and sad in a extreme way.
Someone can say i’m promoting a sickness like Nicotine Poisoning becuase i have some pictures where i’m smoking, and i agree that will be better for me to stop smoking, but i’m not trying to promote it, i’m just showing tobacco as something i use, you can find it cool or completely stupid, but i’m not trying to glorify it, and i’m not pushing others to smoke.
The big problem for me is not this group members are showing their concept of beauty, is they are doing it outside fantasy, as a right concept in SL and RL, and in a so thoughtless way that they can affect real life of real people.

I hate that society treats this illness as just a bunch of teens hungry of be supermodel..come on..theres always something behind..
This is why most of the people talks about it as a wish to be skinny…
I must say ty to Keiko,for treat this with lots of respect..cause unfortunetly..this becomes a real illness just a few years ago…

Dream bits… an exhibition.
May 28th
Tomorrow i will open another small exhibition of my SLphotography at Jaid Marsi’s gallery. It will be part of the artshow playing at Raglan sims, this sims are tiny… not tiny the sims themselves, i mean they are meant and ruled by tiny residents.
There you will find a new image “The creation of the biggie”, is exclusive and will be the only one for sale, 50% of the sales will be donated to the maintenance of the gallery, and the other 50% will be donated to Relay for Life (a project to fight against cancer).
At the gallery you will find not only my works, also awesome images by Jaid Marsi, Silverdrake Sparrow and some other artists.

Puppets

In the last times I’ve been quite interested in the concept of Avatars as puppets, because, someway, they are just virtual puppets in a virtual environment.
All this thoughts finally drove me to take this photography:
This photography was released in the exhibition I’m having in this moment at The Cannery (more info in this post). When i posted it in Koinup somebody defined it as “meta-conceptual”. Actually i like this definition.
This image includes a lot of questions like: Who is the puppet? Who is the puppeteer? and specially, Are we puppets moving puppets? Is all that some like a world into a world into a world… to the infinite?
I don’t have the answer to that questions, I’m human, so i just have questions and a lot of doubts.
It may seem a bit weird to think about all this in SL or to comment it in my blog… but what is it for? Is not to express my ideas… and over all, my doubts?

I was working in the last days in this, a small exhibition at The Cannery with some of my latest images.
Well, actually the exhibition is divided in two, in one side a Slideshow with some the photographs i took in the last year i like a lot. In the other area there are 6 framed pictures.
This last pictures are the ones that define the show, are quite personal all together, parts of myself, from my love for reading to my sexuality. As i say in the notecard given there: “I’m an avatar, i’m a lover, a dreamer… I’m all that and nothing of that at the same time. I’m contradiction, i’m weakness… I’m human”.
Also i’m releasing there a new exclusive image, for the moment and for some days you can see it exclusively there, the name of that image is “The ventriloquist”.

Let’s talk about SLex… too

After reading a post by Timothy Lilliehook and another one by Tenebrous Pau about SLex, with this questions (but with his own answers, of course) i liked the idea, and even is not a meme, SLex is always a good theme to talk about.
- Let’s get it out of the way first. Are you a virgin in SL? [If you are, move to question 3.]
No, nor in RL. :-p - How long did it take you before you hopped on a poseball with someone? And I don’t mean dance balls.
Quite quick, possibly in my first week. I like to try things. - Do you own any talking genitalia, such as from Xcite?
I use nice genitalia, but is not talking one, i have my own words, don’t need a prim to speak for me. - Guys: Do you edit your “package” to be bigger?
Yes, I edit it, but not to look bigger, the last upgrade of my “package” actually had to make it smaller to match the proportions of my shape. - Do you rely on your talking body parts during your encounters?
No, as i said i have my own words, for me the most important thing in SLex is words, because there is no other way of communication with your SLex partner. - Forget the booty, let’s talk romance. Where’s a romantic place in SL to take someone to?
Are we talking about SLex or about romance? Well, i think the perfect place is my little island, quiet place, really quiet… and private! - When you go shopping for clothes, do you deliberately buy things that you think your gf/bf/partner/flavor of the week would like to see you in?
No, i always buy what i like even my partner dislikes it. Anyway, if there is something my partner dislikes and i like then i try to wear it while we are not together. - Let’s move to commitment: Do you think people get partnered too quickly in SL?
I presume this is a personal question, it depends on each and everyone, anyway partnering is just 10L$ each, and divorce 25L$ for the one that ask for it, quite cheap, at least cheaper than almost everything in Second Life. - Big wedding, small wedding, or no wedding at all? And do you get partnered BEFORE the wedding or afterwards?
No wedding. Of course i respect and enjoy other’s weddings, but personally the only wedding i will have will be a mock one with some dressed like Elvis in his worst Las Vegas days joining our hands together. - Last question, and it’s of course back to the booty. Be honest, how many sex items [furniture and poseballs] do you have around your place?
Some, but actually i have a HUD that rezzes nice animations where ever you are, so… i can do it in the sofa…. i can do it on the floor… i can do it on the kitchen table, baby…
